Overview
A breast lift with implants combines lifting the breast with placing prostheses to reposition the tissue and, at the same time, restore fullness. It's an option for those who have descent and also want to regain or add volume, especially in the upper portion of the breast. Dr. Hermes plans both components carefully for a balanced, natural result.
Dr. Hermes's approach
Dr. Hermes repositions the gland and relocates the areola as in a mastopexy, and places an implant selected to provide the desired volume and restore upper fullness. He coordinates both steps with meticulous technique to balance shape, projection, and symmetry. Given its more complex nature, his humanistic approach and detailed planning with you are key to a safe, natural result.
Risks and honesty
Combining two procedures, the risks include those of the lift and those of the implant: changes in nipple sensation, asymmetry, scars more visible than expected, healing problems, infection, and capsular contracture. Sometimes a touch-up or a second surgical stage may be needed. Dr. Hermes minimizes these risks with careful technique and close follow-up, but no surgery is free of them and results vary.
Are you a good candidate?
It's suitable if you have breast descent and also want more volume or to regain fullness lost after pregnancy or weight change. Good overall health, not smoking, and realistic expectations are ideal, understanding that it combines lift scars with the presence of an implant. Dr. Hermes evaluates whether this combined approach is best for you.

Ready to take the first step?Recovery, step by step
- 01
First days (0-3)
Discomfort and chest tightness, controlled with medication. You'll wear a supportive surgical bra continuously, rest, and avoid lifting your arms above your shoulders. Swelling is expected.
- 02
Weeks 1-2
Swelling begins to subside and most patients resume light tasks and desk work. You continue with the supportive bra and avoid exertion. The breast feels firm and high, which is normal at this phase.
- 03
Weeks 3-6
Noticeable improvement in swelling. The implant begins to settle and the shape looks more natural. Return to low-impact activity, still avoiding heavy lifting and intense exercise until Dr. Hermes clears you.
- 04
Months 2-6
The implant fully settles and the shape becomes softer and more natural. Progressive return to full exercise. Scars fade gradually over 12-18 months. The combined result of lift and volume becomes clearly visible.
Frequently asked
Doing them together allows correcting the descent and adding volume in a single recovery, balancing shape and fullness at the same time. In some cases, for safety or anatomy, Dr. Hermes may recommend doing them in two stages. This is decided with you in consultation, always prioritizing your safety.
Yes, because the lift requires incisions to reposition the tissue and the areola, in addition to those for the implant. Dr. Hermes places them as discreetly as possible and closes them with careful technique. Over time they lighten and flatten, though results vary from person to person.
It's possible. Implants are not lifetime devices and may require exchange over time, and gravity and natural aging can alter the result. Periodic check-ups with Dr. Hermes help monitor your breast health and plan any adjustment in good time.
