Overview
Mastopexy repositions breast tissue to restore firmness, height, and shape without adding volume through implants. It corrects descent that appears with time, pregnancy, or weight change, and repositions the areola to a more harmonious place. Dr. Hermes designs the technique based on your anatomy for a result that looks naturally rejuvenated and true to you.
Dr. Hermes's approach
Dr. Hermes uses incisions that aim to minimize visible scarring (vertical or periareolar depending on your case) and repositions the mammary gland for harmonious height and projection. The areola is repositioned and, if needed, resized. Each incision is closed with multi-layer technique to favor optimal scarring. His humanistic, safety-first approach guides every decision toward a natural result.
Risks and honesty
Like all surgery, risks exist: temporary or permanent changes in nipple sensation, minor asymmetry, scars more visible than expected, healing problems, or infection. Over time, gravity and natural aging may cause some descent. Dr. Hermes follows strict protocols to reduce these risks, but it's important to understand that no surgery is free of them and that results vary.
Are you a good candidate?
It's ideal if you notice descent or loss of firmness from aging, pregnancy, or weight change, and want a higher, firmer breast without necessarily increasing size. Good overall health, not smoking, and realistic expectations about scarring and recovery are recommended. Dr. Hermes assesses your skin and tissue in consultation to guide you.

- 01
First days (0-3)
Mild to moderate discomfort controlled with medication. You'll wear dressings or a surgical bra and follow guidelines for restricted movement. Rest, no exertion, with the swelling typical of this stage.
- 02
Weeks 1-2
Swelling peaks around days 5-7 and then begins to subside. You can do light tasks at home. Exercise restrictions remain in place and the supportive bra is worn continuously.
- 03
Weeks 3-6
Swelling gradually decreases and the shape becomes more apparent. Return to low-impact activities, avoiding heavy lifting and contact exercise. Scars are still pink and maturing.
- 04
Months 2-3 and beyond
Visible result but still evolving. Progressive return to full exercise. Scars fade gradually over 12-18 months with good care and sun protection. The breast looks higher and firmer in a natural way.

Frequently asked
A breast lift focuses on shape and position, not volume. Your breasts will look higher and firmer, with a more youthful appearance, but the size stays similar. If you also want more volume, Dr. Hermes can consider combining the lift with implants in your consultation.
Scars are unavoidable with a breast lift, but Dr. Hermes places them as discreetly as possible and closes them with careful technique. At first they're pink, then they lighten and flatten over 12-18 months. Skin care and sun avoidance help them fade better; even so, results vary from person to person.
A later pregnancy can alter the result, since breast tissue changes again. That's why many patients prefer to have a lift once their family is complete. It's not an absolute rule; Dr. Hermes will discuss the most suitable timing with you based on your plans.
